Arne Vodder (1926 – 2009) was one of the most influential Danish architects and furniture designers in the 20th century. A sense of detail, modest expression and fondness for natural materials characterised Vodder’s designs. Arne Vodder’s designs were often produced from natural materials. The Vodder chaise longue was the first item of furniture he designed with a full metal frame. Just like Arne Vodder’s other designs, the Vodder chaise was designed with a passion for detail. The frame in matt metal enhances the beautiful shape of the chaise, which follows the shape of your body naturally. A good design for Arne Vodder had to be both useable as well as aesthetically beautiful.
