A bowl which draws inspiration from the organic ceramics of the 1970’s. The embossed pattern is entirely made by hand. Nuove Forme, founded in 1993, was conceived as a continuation of the Tuscan company Ceramiche Alvino Bagni which started producing high quality ceramics after the end of the second world war. In the 1950’s Bagni produced collections for prestigious names such as the American Raymor and the Bavarian Rosenthal creating extraordinary pieces which, at the time, were considered to be very innovative.
In the 1970’s the company further expanded its collaboration with renowned designers creating masterpieces that achieved a perfect equilibrium between materials, technique, functionality and aesthetic beauty. Globalization and the rise of mass produced objects in the 1990’s spelled the end for this historic ceramic maker which, at the time, still based its manufacturing process on handcrafted high quality pieces produced in limited numbers.
In 1993 the owner of Ceramiche Bagni, Alvino, founded a new company, Nuove Forme, which today continues the tradition of craftsmanship, creativity and attention to detail that characterized earlier productions. Alongside brand new designs and custom works produced upon request, Nuove Forme, offers today a contemporary interpretation of some historical pieces taken from the Ceramiche Bagni archives, incorporating modern, environmentally friendly manufacturing techniques. The hand-made production is entirely carried out at the company’s premises in Lastra a Signa, near Florence.
